The countdown to the big event has officially begun. On Saturday 27th June, our club teams meet at Welcome Gym Sutton to compete for the club winner trophy. If you are competing, here is what you need to know about the day. As such, we spoke to Lois, the Assistant Manager at Welcome Gym Sutton to find out everything competitors need to know ahead of the big day. You can then arrive feeling prepared and ready to compete.
Sutton is an inviting club with a huge, open-floor space that makes it the perfect venue to host this great event. The Sutton team is excited to welcome competitors from across the network. Lois said: "
We're looking forward to hosting this year's Inter-Club Challenge and welcoming teams from all our clubs. The atmosphere is going to be fantastic, and we're ready to see some great competition on the day." The local team is ready to welcome everyone, but they also want to see if the other clubs have what it takes to challenge them! Get ready for a day of big efforts, high energy, and amazing community spirit. Moreover, the spacious layout will allow both athletes and supporters to enjoy the action.
Bringing Your Supporters to the Sutton Venue You are very welcome to bring friends and family along to watch the action and support the participants. While spectators are fully welcome to watch the event, please note that the venue will not have many seats available. Instead, your guests will be able to stand close to the action to cheer you on. This way, they can enjoy a great view of the competition throughout the day.
In addition, your supporters can enjoy some great treats on the day. The Protein Blends van will be parked at the venue serving delicious drinks. Guests can grab a shake and even put friendly bets on who will win the final trophy. It is going to be a fun, busy day for everyone who comes down. Lois added:
"We'd encourage competitors to bring their friends and family along. Having supporters cheering from the sidelines always helps create an amazing atmosphere and gives athletes that extra boost when they need it most." Easy Parking and Travel Options for Visiting Teams Planning your journey to Sutton early is a brilliant way to stay calm and focused. For this reason, we recommend checking your route before the event. Fortunately, traveling to this club is very easy for visiting teams. On-site parking is fully available for all visitors, so you do not have to worry about finding a space for your car.
If you prefer to travel by train, you have a few excellent options. Sutton, Cheam, or West Sutton are the best train stations to arrive at. Each of these stations is close to the club, making your morning commute smooth and simple. If you want to refine your exercise technique before you travel, make sure to read our recent
Inter-Club Challenge Form Guide.
Basic Gym Rules and Bag Storage When you pack your kit bag, remember to stick to the basic rules of the gym floor. You must wear proper trainers and clean gym wear to compete safely. Notably, please remember that sliders are completely banned on the gym floor for safety reasons.
Furthermore, you will have a safe place to put your things while you work out. All participants can place their kit bags in the main studio to keep the gym floor clear. Once you finish your tough workouts, the changing rooms and showers will be fully available for your post-workout recovery routine. This means you can wash away the sweat and relax comfortably.
Nutrition, Gym Gear, and Friendly Faces Staying fed and hydrated is very important when you are pushing your physical limits. The club will provide a few minimal freebies and drinks on the day. However, we highly recommend that you bring your own favourite snacks and sports nutrition to keep your energy high. You will not need to bring any heavy training gear because the club already has all the fitness equipment you need.
If you need any help, a quick form check, or a burst of motivation, look out for the Sutton staff. Specifically, you can chat with
personal trainers Lois Anderton, Jamie Daravina, and Danny Noble on the floor. Our business manager, Shane Linehan, will also be around all day to help. In addition, the team will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Speak to the team if you need anything at all!
Get Ready to Give Your All Knowing exactly what to expect helps you focus entirely on your physical performance. Ultimately, good preparation can make a big difference on competition day. Pack your trainers, invite your friends, and get ready to represent your club with pride. Let us move safely, support our teammates, and bring our absolute best to Sutton this weekend!
