ACCOUNTABILITY IS KEY Consistency is the foundation of any fitness journey. When you train solo, it is easy to skip a session or cut a workout short. When you have a partner, you are part of a team.
- The Social Contract: You are less likely to cancel when someone else is relying on your energy.
- The Motivation Boost: A workout buddy provides that extra push during the final reps of a set, helping you reach a level of intensity you might not find alone.
PARTNER WORKOUT EXAMPLES Looking for a way to refresh your session this week? Try these "You Go, I Go" style finishers with a friend to spark some friendly competition.
1. THE SQUAT AND HOLD (4 ROUNDS)
- Partner A: Completes 15 Goblet Squats.
- Partner B: Holds a static squat at the bottom of the movement.
- Swap roles immediately. The goal is to keep the tension throughout the entire set.
2. THE RELAY SPRINTS Head to the cardio zone and set a target distance, such as 2000m on the rower or 4000m on the bike.
- Partner A: Sprints for 30 seconds at maximum effort.
- Partner B: Rests and prepares to take over.
- Keep swapping until the distance is covered.
